About Us

Pearse Haley is a senior research analyst for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's Community and Economic Development (CED) group. He holds a bachelor’s degree in urban studies and a master’s degree in elementary education from Brown University as well as a master's degree in city and regional planning from the Georgia Institute of Technology. At Brown, Haley wrote his undergraduate thesis on the adaptive reuse of public school facilities before receiving his teaching certification. At Georgia Tech, he specialized in housing and community development and economic development, with his research focusing on housing mobility, school facilities planning, workforce development policy, and the effect of eviction on the displacement of public school students. Prior to entering Georgia Tech, Haley worked as a classroom teacher in public elementary schools in the Atlanta area for four years.
