Shari Bower is a vice president and the regional executive at the Miami Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. In this role she provides strategic support for the Regional Economic Information Network (REIN), with a focus on activities in the branch's 13-county area, working with other regional executives to collect targeted economic intelligence as part of our District's contributions to the monetary policy process. Shari is responsible for the Miami Branch's board of directors and the Advisory Council on Travel and Tourism. She also contributes to the Bank's community and economic development outreach activities in south Florida.
Shari is a policy expert with a previous focus on payments and market infrastructure policy. She joined the Atlanta Fed in January 2020 as an assistant vice president in the Retail Payments Office, where she was responsible for risk management and enterprise communications and contributed to strategic initiatives in payments, including coordinating the Bank's high-priority objective of promoting safer payments innovation.
Shari began her career at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York as a summer intern in 2004 and then in 2005 as an analyst. She held positions of increasing responsibility in supervision and payments policy and as the deputy director of the policy planning team in the Bank's executive office.
A native of Queens, New York, Shari earned a bachelor's degree in international relations and anthropology from Tufts University in Massachusetts and studied at the School for International Training in Cochabamba, Bolivia. She earned a master's degree in public administration with a specialization in policy analysis from New York University's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.Updated January 2022
